Spinoza-blogger wenst u een uiteinde van 2014 in beatitudine

 

Om u niet een te christelijk klinkend "zalig uiteinde" te wensen, heb ik  - in de geest van Spinoza daar wel dichtbij blijvend - die in de kop omgezet in een meer Spinozistisch getinte wens.

Daarbij hef ik het glas dat ik leende van het Spinoza-café Boedapest.

 

 

 

 

Proost en in 2015 gezond weer op.

 


En in 2015 hoop ik u weer net zo evenwichtig te informeren over alle Spinozana die ik tegenkom, zoals ik nu op de valreep van dit jaar nog even meld dat recent uitkwamen deze werken, waarin Spinoza voorkomt.

David Biale stelde het gedeelte over het jodendom samen. Ik citeer uit Kirsch's bespreking: 

The section devoted to Judaism serves as a good example of the astonishing breadth and depth of the anthology in its entirety. Biale starts with pre-biblical writings of the ancient Near East such as the creation story as it appears in the Akkadian text known as the Enuma Elish and ends with a passage about circumcision from Philip Roth’s “The Counterlife.” In between, he offers illuminating samples of the Tanakh and the Talmud, Maimonides and Nahmanides, the Baal Shem Tov as well as Baruch Spinoza and Moses Mendelssohn, the Zohar and kabbalistic writings of Isaac Luria, but also the Dead Sea Scrolls and the Alphabet of Ben Sira, the work of Jewish poets ranging from Judah Halevi to Nelly Sachs and Emma Lazarus, the groundbreaking scholarship of Heinrich Graetz and Gershom Scholem, and the modern feminist writings of Rachel Adler and Judith Plaskow, among others. The illustrative examples given above are only a sampling of the 700 pages of Jewish texts that Biale has assembled and annotated.

Contre les idées de péché originel, de Dieu punissant, de providence, de vérité absolue, sont donc invités les plus célèbres critiques du religieux: Spinoza, Hume, Kant, Renan, Feuerbach, Marx, Nietzsche, Freud, Russel, Wittgenstein. Yvon Quiniou sait d'avance qu'il sera moqué pour cet aréopage de sommités, aussi avoue t-il simplement au détour d'une page, « je n'ai rien trouvé de mieux »."
