Spinoza Never Made it to Esloev

Ik denk dat de naam van Spinoza in een komend nieuw kunstproject in het stadje Eslöv in Zweden alleen maar als lokkertje gebruikt wordt. Zoals ik al vaker op dit weblog heb laten zien: Spinoza is overal voor te gebruiken. Maar wie weet wordt in dit tweejaarlijks georganiseerde 'kunstonderzoeksproject' naar de onbekende geschiedenis van deze kleine stad Eslöv, onder de verzameltitel Eslöv By The Sea, dat stelt nu toe te zijn aan het onderwerp godsdienst en filosofie, tóch serieus een koppeling met Spinoza  gelegd?

Gisteren werd een video op YouTube geplaatst over dat komende kunstproject in het Zweedse plaatsje Eslöv. Vanmorgen is die video al 129 keer bekeken! Daar de tekst:

Part 5 in the project is coming up. It will be shown at the Eslöv Town Museum starting November 28. An epic art research project about the unknown history of the little town of Eslöv. The Art research project has now reached the subject of religion and philosophy. The subtitle this time is “Spinoza Never Made it to Eslöv”.

   

In een eerder bericht van ‘fredag, september 18th, 2009’ was te lezen:

Preparations and research are being done for the fifth part of the art-project ARCHIVE - Eslöv By The Sea. Part V is about Eslöv and the religion, or actually Eslöv and the philosophy. Religion and philosophy is interconnected and we can’t consider the one without considering the other. The subtitle for the fifth part is “Spinoza never made it to Eslöv”. More stunning finds from the unknown history of Eslöv will be presented, as in the previous exhibition. Part V will be exhibited in the magnificent Eslöv Town Museum and the opening night is planned for November 28. More about this later.

Eslöv Museum lies in the heart of the town. It was established in 2000 and is contained within a former merchant’s house from the late nineteenth century. The museum’s permanent exhibition traces the development of the settlement from a small farming village to a thriving commercial centre as the railways arrived. The museum also hosts changing temporary exhibitions on themes with some relevance to the locality. It has attractive gardens. There is also a second hand bookshop here. [hier]

Op 19 oktober 2009 verscheen een volgende video, waarbij deze tekst: Eslöv By The Sea - ARCHIVE V. The fifth part of the Art Research-project contains the story about Eslöv, Philosophy and Religion, and brings you an exhibition with the subtitle "Spinoza Never Made it to Eslöv". The epic art research project about the unknown history of the little town of Eslöv was originally planned to be released in six different parts. So far part 5 is the 8:th release in the ARCHIVE-project...
